eBay Question: How Do I Find eBays Phone Number

September 30th, 2007 by admin

Q: Tanner,
I am having some trouble with my eBay account and I have tried using all the the available eBay help pages to try and solve it, but nothing has worked. Does eBay have a ph*ne number I can call where I can get some additional help? I have looked all over for a number, but I can’t find one.

Thanks,

Cecil

A: Ah the infamous eBay phone number…does it exist? If so can it be found?

The eBay phone number has been a topic of discussion among the eBay community for quite some time now. eBay does in fact have two public telephone numbers that you can call for customer service…

…However there are two problems. First if you have not tried using all of the available online contact methods and you call Ebay you will aggravate them and predispose them against you. They will tell you to go back and fill out the online forms and they will help you.

Second the best thing you can do when you call eBay is leave a message…because nobody answers these phones, so its all you can do.

So here for better or for worse are eBays phone numbers: Read the rest of this entry »

Thanks,

Steven

Selling Affiliate Products through Online Auction Sites

Selling Affiliate Products through Online Auction Sites
By Sydney Johnson

The question I am most asked by people who have read Make Your Net Auction Sell! is what “What should I sell?” The second most asked one is “Will (whatever) sell well on auction sites?” My answer is almost always the same: I don’t know.

I’m aware that this is a very unsatisfactory answer, but at least it’s honest. Unless you are interested in my chosen categories, (relatively) rare books and some kinds of jewelry, I can’t possibly know.

It’s hard to tell someone what to sell - the best advice is always to find something that is interesting to YOU.

Here is an personal example: I have a really burning interest in finding ways for SANE weight loss. So many so-called solutions range from ridiculous to downright dangerous. If those stupid diets worked, we wouldn’t need a new one every week - or every day.

The question isn’t WHAT to eat. We all know.

The question is how to develop the habits that support a safe and healthy lifestyle. That’s a much different question and the companies making mega millions on overweight problems know it! (Don’t you just love the national magazines with a 98 pound model on page 10 and a triple layer fudge cake on page 12?)

I an constantly experimenting myself, and when I find something genuine it’s very gratifying to be able to help people - and make money, too. Read the rest of this entry »

eBay Question: How Do eBay Fees Work?

September 27th, 2007 by admin

Q: Hi Tanner,

I have been selling on ebay for a little over a month, and today I recieved my monthly invoice from eBay and the amount I owe is much larger than I anticipated. If I am reading the invoice correctly it looks like eBay charged me two fees for each auction I listed and sold. Is that right?

Confused,

Devin M.

A: This is what catches many sellers, beginer and experienced alike by suprise. They think they are making money, but at the end of the month they find out that they lost money.

Yes eBay does have two main fees. The first fee, the “Listing Fee” is how much it will cost you to list your ad on eBay and is based on the starting price of the auction, the quantity of items being sold, and any additional options you used to enhance your ad. You are charged the Listing Fee when you list your ad.
