eBay Question: What to Do With Non Paying Bidders

September 23rd, 2007 by Guest Author

Q: I sold an item two weeks ago and I have still not recieved
payment. I have sent an invoice as well as a payment reminder, but I have recieved no response. I state in my listing that Payment must be recieved within five days. What can I do? I don’t want to leave negative feedback if I don’t have to.

Please Advise,
Bryan Kemper

A: Unfortunatly this happens much more often than it should and you options are rather limited in how you can deal with the situation.

After you have sent the payment reminder, that is the last of the official methods of contact with the buyer. But what you can do, is get their email address off of their invoice and send them another message without going through ebay. Read the rest of this entry »

Open Your Own eBay Store

September 22nd, 2007 by Guest Author

Learn how to open your own eBay store, and join tons of other sellers who regularly sell any array of items normally listed in eBay auctions, and now benefit from an eBay Store. Store setup is a breeze. The eBay Store online video tutorial walks you through the concept and the process.

Start at www.ebaystores.com and then click on the Audio Tour link (in the right-hand column). Adjust your speakers and take notes - if you need to. Soon you’re ready to access the Basic Store Information form (click on “Open Your Store Now”), where you’ll establish your eBay Store. You must have a minimum feedback rating of 20 or be ID Verified in order to open an eBay Store.

As easy as it is to use, the form has some of those eBay-typical stodgy limitations. For example, your Store name can’t be longer than 35 characters, which isn’t a whole lot. Take the name “Abigail’s Precious Gifts and Collectibles.” This uses 37 characters - too many.

Conjure a concise name for your Store that gets right to the crux of your business. Know in advance that your Store name, sans spaces and punctuation, becomes the tail end of the URL that eBay assigns you. Read the rest of this entry »

eBay Question: What is The Best Way To Ship Items

September 20th, 2007 by Guest Author

Q: Tanner,

What is the best company to use for shipping: UPS, Fed Ex or the post office? and which one do you use?

Thanks,
Lisa

A: As far as which of the above shippers is the best, I would say that depends on what you are mailing. If its small and relativly light, I would go with the post office. But if its large, bulky or heavy, I would use UPS or Fed Ex.

It also depends on where you are mailing it to. If you are shipping to an APO or FPO I would suggest the Post office as Fed Ex and UPS do not deliver to them. Also UPS will not deliver to a P.O. BOX Read the rest of this entry »
