Selling Affiliate Products through Online Auction Sites
By Sydney Johnson

The question I am most asked by people who have read Make Your Net Auction Sell! is what “What should I sell?” The second most asked one is “Will (whatever) sell well on auction sites?” My answer is almost always the same: I don’t know.

I’m aware that this is a very unsatisfactory answer, but at least it’s honest. Unless you are interested in my chosen categories, (relatively) rare books and some kinds of jewelry, I can’t possibly know.

It’s hard to tell someone what to sell - the best advice is always to find something that is interesting to YOU.

Here is an personal example: I have a really burning interest in finding ways for SANE weight loss. So many so-called solutions range from ridiculous to downright dangerous. If those stupid diets worked, we wouldn’t need a new one every week - or every day.

The question isn’t WHAT to eat. We all know.

The question is how to develop the habits that support a safe and healthy lifestyle. That’s a much different question and the companies making mega millions on overweight problems know it! (Don’t you just love the national magazines with a 98 pound model on page 10 and a triple layer fudge cake on page 12?)

I an constantly experimenting myself, and when I find something genuine it’s very gratifying to be able to help people - and make money, too. Read the rest of this entry »

eBay Question: How Do eBay Fees Work?

September 27th, 2007 by Guest Author

Q: Hi Tanner,

I have been selling on ebay for a little over a month, and today I recieved my monthly invoice from eBay and the amount I owe is much larger than I anticipated. If I am reading the invoice correctly it looks like eBay charged me two fees for each auction I listed and sold. Is that right?

Confused,

Devin M.

A: This is what catches many sellers, beginer and experienced alike by suprise. They think they are making money, but at the end of the month they find out that they lost money.

Yes eBay does have two main fees. The first fee, the “Listing Fee” is how much it will cost you to list your ad on eBay and is based on the starting price of the auction, the quantity of items being sold, and any additional options you used to enhance your ad. You are charged the Listing Fee when you list your ad.

eBay Question: What Do I do About About Unfair Negative Feedback?

September 26th, 2007 by Guest Author

Q: Tanner,
I just recieved a Negative Feedback from a lady I sold a camera to last week. She recieved the camera and imediatly went and posted a negative feeback for me stating that the product was not as described in the ad. She never even contacted me first to tell me there was a problem or that she wanted a refund.

I dont think that my camera was misrepresented in the ad and I have a refund policy that was posted on the same ad. I would have been happy to return here money if there really was a problem, but she never even gave me a chance.

What do I do in this situation? Is there any way I can get that negative feedback removed?

Need advice,

James

A: Don’t you hate when that happens!!!!!

Is the person a “newbie”? This quite often happens when someone is new and nervous. You know the type that sends four emails between 11:30pm and 11:45pm on a Saturday night and doesn’t know why you didn’t respond.

Your first step is to count to ten and do a few deep cleansing breaths to remove any traces of revenge chemicals that are flowing through your veins.

Next, contact the person. Try to find out what happend and what went wrong.

If you solve the mystery and the person and you come to an agreement then good. If the person is a newbie, then try to explain that it is bad eBay manners to give a negative without warning.

It is very difficult to get eBay to remove a negative feedback. Click on the following link to read their policy for doing so. Read the rest of this entry »

eBay Selling Tip - What is PowerSnipe?

September 24th, 2007 by Guest Author

ebay Auction SnipingPowerSnipe is a bidding and auction sniper online service
tool used to snipe and win eBay Auctions. eBay auctions are
often lost in the last few seconds of the auction because the
majority of people wait until the last seconds to place their
bids. PowerSnipe is an online service that securely bids for
you in the final moments, giving you a better chance of winning.

I have used or tested almost all of the various auction sniper
tools available and I must say that Powersnipe is by far the
best of the best. It is no the cheapest sniper out there, as you
pay one flate fee for all your snipes. However they do not charge
a per auction or percentage fee. Read the rest of this entry »
