eBay Question: What Items Am I Not Allowed To Sell on eBay
admin Q: eBay just pulled on of my auctions and gave me a warning about listing prohibited items. Prohibited items? I didn’t even know there were things that couldn’t be sold on eBay. I don’t want this to happen again so is there anyway you can tell me what items are prohibited on eBay?
Thanks,
Steven
A: Yes, unfortunatly there are quite a few things you are not allowed to sell on eBay. Here is an example of some of the types of
Alcohol
Animals and Wildlife Products
Catalog and URL Sales
Counterfeit Currency and Stamps
Counterfeit Items
Credit Cards
Drugs & Drug Paraphernalia
Embargoed Goods and Prohibited Countries
Firearms
Fireworks
Government IDs and Licenses
Human Parts and Remains
Links
Lockpicking Devices
Mailing Lists and Personal Information
Plants and Seeds
Postage Meters
Prescription Drugs and Devices
Recalled Items
Satellite and Cable TV Descramblers
Stocks and Other Securities
Stolen Property
Surveillance Equipment
Tobacco
Travel
And there are even more items that eBay considers questionable. Ebay is very strict on these policys and they are always on the lookout for these types of items. IF found usually eBay will just pull the listing and send you a notice about selling prohibited items, however if you are constantly trying to sell these Items you may be banned from eBay.
Your best bet is to stay 100% away from the items on the prohibited list and if you have an item that you are unsure of, send ebay an email and find out for sure if its ok before you list it.
It’s always a good idea to cover your bases.
