May it be a full time gig or just as a hobby, many people have discovered the opportunity of how to make money on ebay by auctioning what they love. Products auctioned can either be great finds from countless garage sales, or antiques that your mom keeps around, or even items that are just left for display at home or even things from your favorite past-time, to things collected from trips from countless tours around landmark places and ethnicities, all these and many others can be sold at an ebay auction.

There are a couple of perks to be taken advantage of if the eBay market is entered this way.

It’s not that different at all of how to make money on eBay with a product you love with any other product. To know if the item you love has a buying audience, there is no substitute for proper research.

Also, through research you must be able to find out how much would an eBay buyer be willing to bid and spend on your item. If the products you are working on are items that you actually have passion for then this research would be like child’s play. But then if research shows that you would be ending up spending more to make the item available than what you actually get when it’s sold, then decisions must be made to keep your passions as a hobby and not go on with an eBay business.

There are some exceptions though to this rule of thumb, so to speak. Take for example the artisans in the handcrafting world, some of which have discovered how to make money on eBay selling their creations. They often say that their work is but a “labor of love” and profit isn’t really expected. This notion may work for some, but if you really want to make money on eBay with your so called “labor of love” then you need to look at the big picture and think outside of the box.

Consider a woman who sold handcrafted dolls. The rate of return on a single item made was not very high, though this was her passion.

She then needed other avenues for profit and this was in the form of expanding her product line. She was able to supply patterns, fabric, buttons and various other supplies that other handicraft makers could use on their projects. Also, by offering the work made by other artisans on consignment, she greatly expanded her positive cash flow paradigm by finding complimentary ways of how to make money on eBay.

By broadening the horizon and thinking beyond what is obvious; from peeking from a hole in the fence and instead going over and beyond it, hundreds of people in literally every age group and those even in diverse economic and social backgrounds have discovered the possibilities on how to make money on eBay with the things they are most passionate about.

But then the hardest part about it is that since these things are items that are born from your passions, or things that you have spent a great deal of your time and heart on, the most difficult thing is to actually part with them.
