March 10th, 2008 by admin

EBay has been the most successful selling website since it opened in 2005, the rapid growth was outstanding and tremendous which brought millions of people to buy and sell on eBay. Many people became fortunate and started to make $1000 a month which for most it later on improved with sales up to $10,000 a month. The number seems high but that is not all, many members where ranked with Platinum which you will only be identified with this ranking when you sell $25,000 a month!

It is without doubt that eBay has been successful for many sellers. For many eBay has changed there lives, making there lives easier since selling on eBay is always flexible, allowing families to spend more time together or do other important errands. People gain experience though out the time which eventually makes selling on eBay a simpler task than it already is. Studies show that out of all worldwide businesses 65% have mentioned that eBay has improved there business dramatically.

Though selling on eBay is fortunate for many sellers, people have to still be aware of the risks of purchasing and selling on eBay. It is true that in eBay you can sell about anything, but there are numerous things that shouldn’t be sold on eBay, since it can harm you eBay seller status. A down side to selling on eBay is that you may get penalized for selling illegal items.

For example, it is probably not your intention to sell anything illegal, and you try to avoid selling illegal items by applying the laws of your own country, though the item you are selling is perfectly legal in your country it might be considered illegal to the buyer’s country.

Selling overseas falls upon the risk of breaking others countries’ laws that is why it is considered a down fall when selling on eBay since you sometimes are limited or can’t expose your item for people living in other countries, thus brings less traffic to your item as you would if exposing your item to other countries. You also have to make a good judgment of how much value is your product; otherwise you may fall in risk of loosing money.

You also have to take extreme precaution about giving feedback. If you are not honest with your statements you can get sued. When you are sending feedback you are always responsible for your remarks. If you send negative feedback is often the case that buyers will avoid purchasing your product as well as sellers will think twice before selling to you.

When you are a beginner at selling at eBay it may be the case that you will start of good and as time goes by you progress with new strategy and ideas. In the other hand some will not succeed because they are inexperienced and it is the case that money as well as time are very crucial.
